Nausea and vomiting

Nausea (the sensation of a need to vomit) and vomiting can be caused by a large number of conditions.

Common causes include gastrointestinal conditions such as acid related problems, liver disease and gall bladder disease. There are many non-gastrointestinal causes such as drug side effects, pregnancy and metabolic problems. A detailed medical history, physical examination and appropriate investigations are needed to make an accurate diagnosis.
